The world of superheroes offers a lot of inspiration in our everyday lives. As you plan your wedding day, learn how to turn a groom's love of superheroes into a fashionable wedding ring that honors the love you share as a couple and draws direct inspiration from comic book superheroes.

See how various rings draw direct inspiration from some of the most popular heroes in DC Comics.

Green Lantern Ring

The power ring Green Lantern wears gives the hero some incredible abilities, and the Green Lantern symbol has been iconic for ages. For a wedding band, consider a black base ring with green emerald elements mixed throughout the design. A black carbon-fiber material allows the green to shine and stand out more than the color would with a silver or gold base.

You could choose a flat stone setting in the center of the ring or a whole band of emerald green across the center. Custom engraved rings give you the option to feature a Green Lantern logo on the inside of the ring so your spouse always knows the symbol of the hero lies there.
A yellow gemstone option could represent the Sinestro Corps from the comic books. Led by Green Lantern villain Sinestro, the characters wore yellow power rings instead of the green, and those rings are also a big part of the Green Lantern universe lore.

Superman Rings

In the history of DC comics, Superman has worn a variety of rings and each one involved different powers. For example, the red kryptonite class ring Clark Kent wore on the series Smallville would bring out the rebellious side of Kent and red Kryptonite became an iconic part of the series.

While red Kryptonite is a fictional material, your husband could create a similar design with ruby gemstones. Go with a class ring style with one big red ruby in the center or select a more subdued design. A ruby inlay band would go across the center of the ring and indent instead of lying flat up against other ring materials.

Superman has also been known to wear the Legion ring. The Legion ring included a large "L" symbol and allowed Superman to travel through time. If you or your spouse has an "L" initial in as part of their name, then a Legion ring replica could make an ideal fit. You could also replicate the design and replace the "L" with another letter.

The Flash Ring

As the Flash speeds to save the day, he relies on a special ring which contains technology to house his bright red suit. The Flash ring features a lightning bolt symbol in the center, a gold base, and red detailing around the symbol.

The Flash ring represents ways your spouse could implement shapes and designs into a ring design. A jeweler does not have to create something flashy in the ring design. For example, you could have a ring with evenly spaced lightning bolt symbols engraved around a band. You could have a solid gold band with a red lightning bolt symbol in the center.

For a more subtle design, consider a mix of red and gold materials. For example, a ring could feature a band of red diamonds around the whole ring.
If your spouse chooses an exact replica of any ring design, consider the purchase of a necklace. If the ring is bulky, your husband will also have the option to wear the ring around his neck. The jewelry piece won't become a distraction on the hand and the husband can still showcase their love and dedication to the marriage through the necklace option.
